Author Mark Lawrence is calling all self-published fantasy authors!

In case you didn't hear about Mark Lawrence's Self-Published Fantasy Blog Off this last year, you might be interested to know that it is an event that allows self-published fantasy authors to submit their work to be reviewed by top genre blogs in the hopes of being chosen as the best self published work. The submissions are distributed among the blogs and each blogger then reviews the books and recommends a finalist. Of course throughout the process self-published authors will get a chance to get their work out there with the ultimate prize of some serious free promotion if your work is selected as a finalist.

This year, Mark Lawrence is considering making this an annual event under the condition that he receives 250+ manuscripts to distribute to the blogs by the end of April. If you are a self-published fantasy author, I would seriously recommend giving this a shot. At worst, your work won't be selected as a finalist. At best, you get a whole lot of free promotion which in turn could get you more readership. Worth a shot, right!?

Here are Mark's rules for this year:

i) No book that was entered last year can be entered this year.
ii) The book must be #1 in a series or a stand-alone.
iii) The book must actually be self-published, not something you're considering self-publishing in future.
iv) It must be a fantasy book.

If you're interested in submitting your already self-published book to the contest head on over to Mark Lawrence's blog for more details and how to submit. Good luck and I hope everyone has a good deal of fun with the process!
